Links Wanted
We welcome suggestions for web sites to include on this page. Most welcome are sites of an individual, family, community or educational nature. We will not normally consider company web sites, unless some contribution to the wider community is clear, which should be listed in either our business or shop directory.

Just For Fun

Preston, Wendolene's dog in the Wallace and Gromit films, from Aardman Animations. Animator Nick Park, the creator of Wallace and Gromit, comes from Preston. Aardman Animations also created the famous clay character Morph. Our eldest daughter, then about 2 years old, used to cry when Morph disappeared at the end of each TV episode. Goodies to download if you're prepared to look around.

All About Me! Former Prestonian Brian Hunt gives what we think is a very funny account of his childhood. Echoes of Adrian Mole.

Robbie Williams Adorer Larisa, adorer of Robbie Williams, and her family and friends. Demonstrates what a 12 year old, unafraid of technology, can do with minimal assistance.

Robbie Williams Fan "Robbie is now the most sexiest and talentested popstar in the world!!!!".

Preston Playhouse Theatre The Playhouse Theatre building was originally a Quaker Meeting House but now holds a 228 capacity theatre, rehearsal rooms and a licenced bar. An active schedule of plays. Charitable status under the name Preston Little Theatre.

Dukes theatre & cinema. Worth the journey. This Lancaster based theatre has acquired a well-deserved reputation for innovation and entertainment. We're big fans of the summer outdoor productions in Williamson Park and the family Christmas show is particularly popular. Lots of mainstream and independent movie screenings.

Simply The Best
The Settle - Carlisle Railway Development Company. This beautifully crafted site is dedicated to England's most scenic railway. The site includes access information, details of free guided walks and statistics on all the viaducts including the famous 24 arch Ribblehead viaduct. Note, the pages on this site have grown longer since we first viewed it and it's no longer quite as elegant looking as it used to be.
